Bent Holm is a Norwegian sound designer and re-recording mixer based in Oslo, working across feature films and television productions in Norway and internationally. He combines creative sensitivity with technical expertise to shape soundscapes that support narrative, atmosphere, emotion, and character. His work spans Field-recording, sound design, supervising sound editing, and re-recording mixing, with a consistent focus on integrating dialogue, effects, and music in service of the director’s vision.
Before working freelance, Holm built his professional foundation at several established Norwegian post-production studios, including The Chimney Pot, Storyline, Shortcut Oslo, and Uhørt. These roles contributed to his collaborative approach to film and storytelling through sound.
Holm’s career includes involvement in films that have won two Palme d’Or awards and received four Academy Award nominations.
In 2022, he and the sound team were awarded the CST Artist–Technician Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for Triangle of Sadness, directed by Ruben Östlund. The film was also nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Foreign Language Feature by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), USA.
In Norway, Holm has been honored with Amanda Awards for Best Sound Design, including Narvik: Hitler’s First Defeat (2023), together with Oslo Sonic colleague, Espen Rønning, and Handling the Undead (2024), recognizing his contribution to contemporary Norwegian cinema.
Across his career, Holm has worked on a wide range of feature films and drama series in roles including supervising sound editor, sound designer, and re-recording mixer, building work defined by narrative focus, technical clarity, and long-term collaboration with filmmakers.
